A Apostolic Overcoming Holy Church of God is a black Pentecostal church founded in 1919 as the Ethiopian Overcoming Holy Church of God by Bishop W.T. Phillips in Mobile, Alabama. A title was changed within 1927. A founder left a Methodist Episcopal Church, which he served as a minister, after becoming caring all about a doctrine of sanctitude & a run of sanctification.
Worship services come self-generated & emotional & include foot cleaning, divine healing, ecstatic saltation, & speaking within tongues. Headquarters of the church come inside Mobile.
